Welcome to the Athey Creek Trading Post! My name is Bethany and I'm going to be running this blog. I just want to share a few guidelines to help you get started.

1) This site is only for people who attend Athey Creek Christian Fellowship.

Note: As of 11/13/11 we are allowing former Creekers participate. However, they must let me know they are no longer at Athey when they send me information for a post. I will include that information in the post, which will allow Creekers who feel more comfortable with and/or prefer the convenience of making trades at church to continue doing so. If this creates any problems, then I'll change the rules accordingly. If it works for everyone, then we'll continue allowing it.

2) This site is only for the free exchange of items. Items can be requested or offered. People responding to a request can give or loan the item in question.

3) Items being sold, offers to pay for an item, and offers or requests for services or other non-tangible items will not be allowed.

4) If you want to make an offer or request, then send the information to me at the following address, with spaces removed - bethanyandtim @ yahoo . com - and I will post it for you.

5) If you complete a transaction, either by getting rid of what you offered or receiving what you requested, then please let me know so that I can update or delete the post.

6) You are welcome to e-mail pictures to me of the items you are wanting to exchange and I'll include them in your post.

7) If you would like to take an offered item or offer a requested one, then use the contact information provided in the post. The proper procedure is to e-mail the person directly and I will not post phone numbers.

8) If you don't personally know the individual you'll be making a transaction with, then you'll need to provide contact information or arrange a meeting place at church. Please share that information and work out those details privately, via e-mail.

9) Please don't take items unless you know you'll be using them within the next 6 months. This is not a place to stockpile for next year's clothing or to get something you may use someday in the future. It's a place where our church family can find things to meet the needs they have right now.

10) The exception to rule 9 is that if an item is still unclaimed two weeks after posting, then people can claim it to save for future use or to give to someone you know who could use it. It is not appropriate to take an unclaimed item for the purpose of selling it.

11) Posts requesting donations for a cause (missionary care packages, fundraising yard sales, etc) will not be allowed.

12) I am willing to re-post anything, per request, that has been on the site for at least two months.

13) Explanations for why a request or offer is being made will not be included in the posts.

14) This site is something I'm doing independently and is not an official church site.
